Announced at MechCon 2016, Piranha Games is taking MechWarrior back to its singleplayer roots with MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries. Slated for a 2018 release, Piranha Games president Russ Bullock took. Description of MechWarrior Probably the very first giant robot game that can proudly claim to be a simulation than a straightforward action shooter, Mechwarrior is a great game set in FASA's famous BattleTech world of giant robots. It was, and still is, one of the best BattleTech games ever made.
Within the MechWarrior games, players take control of a single BattleMech and combat other BattleMechs, tanks, infantry, and more, from within the cockpit of their machine. A third-person alternate view is available in MechWarrior 2, 3, 4, Online, and 5. Both MechWarrior 2 and MechWarrior 3 were Origins Award winners, taking Best Fantasy or Science Fiction Computer Game 1995 and Best Action Computer Game 1999 respectively. MechWarrior: Living Legends was the recipient of the ModDB2009 Mod of the Year[1] and - due to rules preventing one mod from winning the same award twice[2] - an Honorable Mention in 2010. MechWarrior: Living Legends is not an actual MechWarrior mod, but rather a complete conversion of a completely unrelated game, Crysis Warhead.[3]
In-universe timeline[edit]
- MechWarrior takes place at the end of the Third Succession War.
- MechWarrior 2: 31st Century Combat, Ghost Bear's Legacy, Mercenaries, and MechWarrior Online deal with the events soon before, during, and soon after the Clan Invasion of the Inner Sphere.
- MechWarrior 3 and MechCommander are concerned with different parts of 'Operation Serpent' and 'Operation Bulldog', the combined Inner Sphere counterattack against the Clans, targeted at the Smoke Jaguars.
- MechWarrior 4: Vengeance, its expansions, and MechCommander 2 deal with the Federated Commonwealth Civil War.
- MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries takes place during the Third Succession War.[4]
Live-action film[edit]
Electric Entertainment, a Hollywood production company founded by Dean Devlin, currently holds the option to produce a feature film based on the MechWarrior universe.[5] In 2003, Devlin approached Paramount to pitch the project but failed to receive funding. The project is currently in development limbo.[citation needed]

Raising your reputation is how you earn the big bucks and better rewards in MechWarrior 5, but it may seem somewhat slow at the start. Luckily for you all you aspiring MechWarriors, raising it isn’t all that difficult.
Raise your reputation by taking on contracts.

The easiest way to raise your reputation in MechWarrior 5 is to take on the various contracts littered across the Starmap. First, we should break down your reputation into two categories: clan and faction.
Clan reputation is your largest concern, seeing as it unlocks additional campaign quests and provides you more negotiation points across the board. Faction reputation only applies to the faction you are either assisting or battling: take contracts for a faction to raise it, and take contracts against a faction to lower it.
Clan reputation is simple to level: just complete contracts. All contracts provide reputation, but if you see a High Reputation quest (yellow icon) on the Starmap, complete it for a large reputation reward (and sometimes a mech or handful of powerful new weapons). These usually have multiple parts, so be sure to save up a bit to keep up with repairs.
Faction reputation is a bit more granular. You can check the intel on any system you select to see what factions are in control, and what factions you will likely face. The colored sectors of the Starmap also indicate which faction controls that sector (and therefore, is most likely going to sponsor your endeavors in the region. Maxing out a faction early gives you more points for negotiation, so it’s prudent to focus on a faction early and stick with them for a while if you wish to maximize your grind. High Reputation quests and Multi-Objective quests are great for leveling your faction rank, but remember this: you can’t repair between objectives in a Multi-Objective quest, so take these on when you have a stable of mechs and pilots to swap between.

Be careful: failing or aborting a mission can cause you to lose reputation, so try and save prior to accepting a contract or quest to avoid this penalty.
That’s all there is to raising your reputation: take on contracts to raise your clan rank, and use the intel on the Starmap to focus in on the faction who’s sector you are in to maximize rewards. For more guides be sure to keep an eye on our guides page.
